Teachers
how do we get the job done?
By the Late Elder Fred McCoy
Base Scriptures: And the very God of peace sanctity you wholly; and I
pray God your whole spirit, and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the
coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. ( I Thess. 5:23)
When God created us, He did so in a certain order. The Spirit first,
then the Soul and lastly the body. This is how He intended for us to live. When
man fell in Genesis 3 that order was reversed. We now live soul, spirit, body.
When we receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior, that order should’ve been
straighten out, but it hasn’t for many of us.
When we got saved, it was not our soul that got saved, it was our
spirit. Contrary to popular belief, God is not interested as much in your soul
as He is your spirit. Why? He wants the part of you that best resembles Him.
That is your spirit!!! (Gen 1:26-27)
If you lived all your life governed by your soul,
it is extremely difficult to change your lifestyle and now live your life
governed by your spirit. But, despite that difficulty, it is necessary.
There is a clear difference between your soul prospering and your
spirit prospering. I’m willing to bet that most people have never thought about
the difference between the two.
The soul represents the natural life: the seat of personality,
sentient elements of man, the seat of the will, the part of man that perceives,
reflects, feels desires; the emotional part of man.
The
spirit represents
that which most resembles God: the eternal
part of man, the element of man that gives him the ability to communicate with
God, the seat of character, the first order of man.
Again, we are spirits, who posses a soul, and live in a body. Even
before were born again we have a spirit-human spirit. (Job 32:8/Prov. 20:27/Eccl. 12:7/Acts 7:59 I Cor.
2:11)
One of the Holy Spirits functions is to lead and guide us. He does so
by communicating to us through our spirit. The reason why a lot of us can’t be
lead by the Holy Spirit is because the Holy Spirit speaks one language and we
haven’t taken the time to learn that language. This is why 80% of the church
has LED poisoning-they’re being lead by the wrong spirit-their own.
The Bible uses the word “flesh” as a synonym for
soul.
“For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap
corruption; but he that soweth to the spirit shall of the spirit reap life
everlasting. (Gal 6:8)
What is soul prosperity?
Soul prosperity is the increase of actions that prosper your
emotions, desires, will, and feelings, to the point that you heed them and
govern your life by them. In other words, the order that God established for
your life is reversed. The disability of soul prosperity over spirit prosperity
is that you use your soulish nature to try to discern God and the things of
God, which leads to inaccuracies in both perception and daily living.
Soul prosperity is easy to do. The neglect of one will lead
to the prosperity of the other. Prospering in your soul is never challenging or
difficult. It takes very little effort. Simply give in to the desires of the
flesh and you’ll prosper your soul.
A problem with prospering your soul instead of your spirit
is you develop in your personality. Never mistake a person of strong
personality with a person of strong spirit. Charisma doesn’t equal character.
Never be impressed with a person who says the right things, does the right
things or appear to have the right look. Be impressed with a person with a
developed and mature spirit.
(Eph 4:7) Personality isn’t a bad thing. However,
personality without the Holy Spirit is futile. Keep in mind that your soulish
nature is that which is emotional and sensual. It’s through the soul (
emotions
and senses) that enable individuals to inspire you. But, inspiration doesn’t
equal CHANGE!!!! People who are strong in spirit will not only inspire you, but
also inspire you to change.
To grow or prosper in spirit is to develop in character. A person of
character is a person who portrays and displays Jesus Christ. Someone, who is
literally becoming a walking, and talking Jesus. (Rom 8:9-11/Gal 2:20/I John 3:24 amp)
Christ us in us by the presence of His spirit. We have the
responsibility of growing in the spirit. In other words, we have to decrease
while the Spirit of Christ increases. There are many different ways to prosper
spiritually, but there is only one thing that will effect us spiritually-
God’s
Word.
(John 6:63)
Whether it is done through reading, singing, meditating,
studying, praying, listening, teaching or preaching. You as a teacher have a
responsibility to prosper spiritually. You can not afford to allow your soul to
be stronger in you than the Spirit of God. We often quote 1 john 4:4, “grater
is He that is in me than he that is in the world”. What if he that’s in the
world is greater in you? The spirit of God being great in you is your
responsibility. You have to allow Him to be the great ONE.
This blog is in memory of one of my instructors at Teacher's Training Course at Valley Kingdom International. This was a great lesson that he taught so much so that I saved it. But by it being so powerful I wanted to share it with one and all. I added the video and the pictures but the lesson is so great I could have left it as is. I want to thank in memory Elder McCoy so much for the knowledge that you have given me to teach. We all miss you much. And I want to thank Rhema Word 2.0 Superintendent Liz Hope for letting me be part of Rhema Word 2.0 through social media and photography. Look forward to another teaching blog from a Rhema Word 2.0 teacher next week. May God bless all those who read this blog and we give God all the glory and the honor. Amen. Have a great week.
