What The Problem Is?

Good afternoon and Happy Friday. We all have an idea on what it is to be a part of the Kingdom of God. There is the Word of God to guide us down the right path. There are Apostles and Pastors who bring an interpret the Word of God that is given to them and they present to the people that attend their respective services. There are teachers, choirs, praise team members, dancers, ushers, nurses, deacons and even board members who all can spread the Gospel of Christ. There is no shortage of the body of Christ as seen by the vast numbers of people who go to church. But one thing I have noticed is that some of the body of Christ cannot get along. I have one question. What The Problem Is?

There is such a division among the people of faith that you can't figure out who really connected to God. You have the Baptist who questions the teachings of the Church of God in Christ who in turns

has issues with the Apostolic and don't let me get started with those who are Catholic and Lutheran and Presbyterians. God is looking down and he is not pleased as he wonders What The Problem Is?This teaching is coming from 1st Corinthians 10:1-5
In beginning this teaching of What The Problem Is I go to the Word of God and to 1st Corinthians 10:1-2. In these verses Paul tells about how the people of God all were covered and all made it from
the oppression from Pharaoh and the evil Egyptians. No matter what is going on God does the same for all those who generally love not those who have placed a label on how to serve him. What The Problem Is?
In going to the Word of God again for the teaching of What The Problem is I go to 1st Corinthians 10:3-4. In these verse it tells of how the people of God have eaten the same food and drink that was
blessed by God and came from the Rock that was Christ. Hmm we have the same beliefs and blessings and favor but there is no one way to honor God? What The Problem Is?
In going to 1st Corinthians 10:5 to finish this teaching of What The Problem Is, we can see that in spite of all the previous things God was not please and left those that he was not pleased with,
scattered in the wilderness. In some of these denominations we have so many ebbs and flows that  is seems that you are scattered about in the wilderness of the world of today. What The Problem Is?
In closing the picture above is a problem that deals with math. I could not even tell you what the solution for this particular math problem because I don't even now what the the problem is or what it represents. While there is fighting and bickering and posturing and even lying about things to make your faction feel bigger we are losing the youth to violence and drugs, the seniors to lack of gaining knowledge from them, lack of an income and declining health. Not to mention the GenX'rs and GenY'rs who do not want to be bothered with conflict and confusion. What The Problem Is? It could be me. It could be you. But there is a problem. I give God all the glory and honor for this teaching and ask him to bring love among all the division and conflict. There should never be a problem when God is in control. Have a great weekend all.

I'm A Survivor

Good morning and Happy Friday, As we are into the 23rd day of the month of January, at this time most of the goals we have set seem to be getting harder to maintain. Many of us are trying to lose weight by going to the gym or eating better. Some of us have started and continuing our education. And then there are others who are seeking to get closer to God by fasting, reading the Bible more and doing the work of the Lord. Just three weeks in some of us want to throw our hands up, even me. But I will tell you this, I am in this this for the long haul because I'm A Survivor.
In looking at the definition of the key word in this teaching, survivor, I go to my source of definitions and that is dictionary.com. Survivor means as follows; a person who continue to function or prosper
in spite of opposition, hardships or setbacks. In our lives there are going to things that will try to oppose us from functioning or hardships that try to prevent us from prospering or setbacks that come along the way. Even in my life all these things have happened, but I'm A Survivor.
As we go into the Word of God to begin this teaching of I'm A Survivor I begin in Genesis 45:1-8. In these verses Joseph finally reveals himself to his brothers which had cast him in a pit, then sold him
(Genesis 37:12-29). Joseph tells his brothers that he had to go through some things that God for his family to be able to survive. Opposition shall come in many forms to stop us from functioning but I'm A Survivor.

In looking at the next example of I'm A Survivor in the Word of God I go to 1st Samuel the 24th chapter. In this chapter Saul has pursued David and has finally caught up with him. But while in a
a cave Saul is not aware that David is there and has gotten so close to him that he could have killed him. But David knew that God had anointed David and only God could punish Saul. There are going to be hardships to use being able to prosper but let God pull us out, not man. I'm A Survivor.
As I come to end of the Biblical portion of this teaching I go to Acts 4:13-22. In this passage Peter and John have the chance to defend themselves in front of the Sanhedrin Council. They had been
arrested, a setback, for healing a man in the name of Jesus. The Council was amazed and shocked by their knowledge and willing to stand for what they knew to be true. There will be setbacks in our lives but that's okay, because I'm A Survivor.
In closing there are many of you that are survivors besides me. You have overcome health problems, addictions, family issues, homelessness, lack of incomes and loneliness. I applaud you all for being survivors. So as we continue this year fool the all by going to the gym year round or eating healthy. Stay true to the fasting that you will allow you to get closer to God. Be strong in your convictions on what you see as your goals and your dreams. Do not give up. You will make it. Like I Am, You are A Survivor as well. I give God all the honor and the glory for this teaching

Fifteen Rounds ( Going the Distance )

Good afternoon and Happy Friday. As I was growing up I was a big fan of boxing. Some of my favorites were Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard and Mike Tyson. These and other boxers were great at the art of boxing and made boxing exciting. Now most people loved the boxer that could knock people out quickly. But the true signs of a boxer was being able to go the distance. When I was growing up the length of a boxing match was fifteen rounds. We as a people of faith have to be prepared to go Fifteen Rounds in our walk of faith.
See this walk of faith is not that easy there are going to be pitfalls as well as triumphs. There is going to be sadness as well as joy. There are going to be bad times as well as good times. But we must be
prepared for these things because the enemy is busy and would want us to throw in the towel and give up. That cannot happen. We must go the distance. We must go the Fifteen Rounds.
As we get into the Word of God for this teaching Fifteen Rounds we begin Deuteronomy 8:17-20. In these verses it shows that the people of God have made it to the promise land but just because they
got there to not forget who helped them get there. We as a people of God sometimes get to a place in our lives to where we have "made it and then start doing things not of God. That is not going the distance. We must go Fifteen Rounds.

In continuing in the Word of God for this teaching of Fifteen Rounds we now go to 2nd Kings 7:3-10. In this passage there four men that had leprosy meaning there place was on the outskirts of town.
But in order for them to live they had to chance going further than they ever had and found riches and even shared them with others. We as a people of God need to go further than before . We need to go Fifteen Rounds.
As we come the end of the Biblical portion of this teaching I go to Acts 11:12--18. In these verses Peter is talking to the leaders of the church about how God had spoken to him about how others,
Gentiles, could be saved and be filled with the Holy Spirit. If Peter had not listened to the voice he would not have gone the distance to change things. We must listen to the voice of God and let the Holy Spirit guide us if we want to change the world. Fifteen Rounds.
In closing there are many of us who attend church services on Sunday and that prepares us for some of the things that the world offers but not all of the things that will be thrown our way. In order to go Fifteen Rounds we must attend Sunday School and Bible Study so we gain the endurance, the strength and the will power to go the distance when it looks like we cannot. When we attend these things it allows us to know the voice of God and be able to go Fifteen Rounds. May God bless any and all who may read this.

Acting Brand New ( Forgetting Where We Came From).

Good afternoon and Happy Tuesday. In beginning this new year most of us want to forget about the past year. We are in new beginnings, changing times and our ship sinking net breaking seasons. I myself am focused on doing things such as doing well in school, taking better care of my health and making sure that I am doing the assignments that God has instructed me to do. In all of this newness there is a tendency that we forget the old we forget the ones who helped us in our hard times or were there when we needed them. Just because we are in a New Year does not mean we have to Act Brand New ( Forgetting Where We Came From).

In looking to define the phrase Acting Brand New I to one of my sources for definitions and this time it is the urbandictionary.com. The phrase Acting Brand New means as follows; when a person thinks
they are better than their friends and treats them differently when their situation gets better. As a men and women of God we get in a better place and treat people who we have known for years or who have helped us differently while we are in the place. Acting Brand New (Forgetting Where You Came From).

In beginning this biblical portion of this teaching of Acting Brand New I go to 1st Samuel 25:9-11. In this passage David tells his men to go see a man named Nabal to help him feed the men who are with
David. Nabal had some of his shepherds protected by David during the times of war and not a one was harmed. Bit when help is needed Nabal starts Acting Brand New. Sometimes when God enters our lives we Act Brand New to those who protected us in hard times.
As we continue in this teaching of Acting Brand New ( Forgetting Where You Came From) I back in the Word of God and 1st Samuel 25:14-17. In this passage one of the young men who David
protected goes to Nabal's wife, Abigail and tells her about how her husband treated the men that David sent. Abigail knew that because her husband was Acting Brand New that David was going to be angry.
As we come to the end of the Biblical portion of this teaching of Acting Brand New ( Forgetting Where We Came From) I go to 1st Samuel 25:23-31. In this passage Abigail goes to David and
begs him to not have God come in and destroy the people and the land she loves. She tells David that his name even means Folly or Fool. Her bravery of not forgetting who helped in a time of need showed that Abigail was not Acting Brand New ( Forgetting Where You Came From).

In closing as we become new creatures in Christ and continue in our faith walk there are those we have left behind who has helped us get thus far. The person who stopped the bully from messing with you. The person who you let sleep on your couch when you were down. The person who helped you raise your children. Just because you are saved and they are not please do not Act Brand New. That only drives them further from wanting to become part of the kingdom of God and it certainly is not pleasing to God. Never forget where you came from. I give God all the glory and honor for this teaching and ask him to bless each and everyone who may read this and those who cannot or may not. Sunday School is calling us all. Have a great week.
