Changing Your World Through Prayer

Good evening one and all. As I attempt to begin this blog I am blessed with a great gift from God. I am blessed to be a writer. When writing I am in a comfort zone like no other. If I put my mind to it I can write poetry, which I have, I can write a book, which I have and I can write a twelve page essay, which I am doing now in school, in a matter of minutes. Each of us has a gift that God has given us. I fall short in many areas of my life though. I do not make the money I want. I do not have the job that I want. I struggle with confidence at times. But I think the main attribute that I lack is an active prayer life. I am not ashamed to admit that and am willing to work on it. Are you?
In looking up the word prayer I go to dictionary.com to find the meaning of prayer. The word prayer is a noun and it means as follows: a devout petition to God; a spiritual communion with God; the act of praying to  God. We most times pray when things get bad. We most times pray when we are wanting things. But we should pray often. The Bible gives great examples. We all know the Lord's prayer ( Matthew 6:9-15) as a model for prayer to petition God.  In Ecclesiastes 5:2 it tells how to have the proper spiritual communion with God. In Ephesians 6:18 gives act of praying to God. We as Christians must have a active prayer life. In the next three paragraphs I will give examples on the power of prayer.
In the first example in the Word of God I go to Nehemiah 1:4-13 Nehemiah who was just a cup bearer for the king,  prayed a devout petition for his people. Nehemiah did not just not pray one day but he prayed for many days (verse 4). We a a people of God must not only pray for ourselves but those in the world as well. Prayer changes things. We must have an active prayer life.
In looking at the second example in the Word of God I go to Daniel the 6th chapter. In verses 10-17 Daniel knew that praying was not the popular thing to do and in fact praying could kill him. But Daniel had to have his spiritual communion with God and nothing was going to separate him from that. In verses 18-28 we see where Daruis the king not only saw the power of God but decreed that this is the true and living God. We must have an active prayer Life.
In the last example in the Word of God I go to Matthew 26:36-46. In this passage Jesus was praying for an act of God but he still knew what his assignment was. It may be times that others around you are sleep on the job like Peter, the rock, and the sons of thunder, James and John ( Jesus loved John the most ) but you still have to have an active prayer life.
In closing I urge you to have an active prayer life. You can change the areas of family, religion and arts and entertainment when you devoutly petition God. You can change the areas of business and government when you  have spiritual communion with God. You can change the areas of social media and education with an act of God.  Exodus 4:31 give us a proper example of how to pray. 1st Kings 8:22--53 is example of prayer to God. In Acts 7:54-60 even as Stephen was being killed he prayed for his people. We can have an active prayer life.  I give God all the glory and honor for this teaching. I thank Minister Kimberly Baker for this chance to teach on prayer. To show you the move of God I actually prayed a fervent prayer this morning and am going to begin, not talk about, but begin active prayer life. Have a great week.
