Acting Brand New ( Forgetting Where We Came From).

Good afternoon and Happy Tuesday. In beginning this new year most of us want to forget about the past year. We are in new beginnings, changing times and our ship sinking net breaking seasons. I myself am focused on doing things such as doing well in school, taking better care of my health and making sure that I am doing the assignments that God has instructed me to do. In all of this newness there is a tendency that we forget the old we forget the ones who helped us in our hard times or were there when we needed them. Just because we are in a New Year does not mean we have to Act Brand New ( Forgetting Where We Came From).

In looking to define the phrase Acting Brand New I to one of my sources for definitions and this time it is the urbandictionary.com. The phrase Acting Brand New means as follows; when a person thinks
they are better than their friends and treats them differently when their situation gets better. As a men and women of God we get in a better place and treat people who we have known for years or who have helped us differently while we are in the place. Acting Brand New (Forgetting Where You Came From).

In beginning this biblical portion of this teaching of Acting Brand New I go to 1st Samuel 25:9-11. In this passage David tells his men to go see a man named Nabal to help him feed the men who are with
David. Nabal had some of his shepherds protected by David during the times of war and not a one was harmed. Bit when help is needed Nabal starts Acting Brand New. Sometimes when God enters our lives we Act Brand New to those who protected us in hard times.
As we continue in this teaching of Acting Brand New ( Forgetting Where You Came From) I back in the Word of God and 1st Samuel 25:14-17. In this passage one of the young men who David
protected goes to Nabal's wife, Abigail and tells her about how her husband treated the men that David sent. Abigail knew that because her husband was Acting Brand New that David was going to be angry.
As we come to the end of the Biblical portion of this teaching of Acting Brand New ( Forgetting Where We Came From) I go to 1st Samuel 25:23-31. In this passage Abigail goes to David and
begs him to not have God come in and destroy the people and the land she loves. She tells David that his name even means Folly or Fool. Her bravery of not forgetting who helped in a time of need showed that Abigail was not Acting Brand New ( Forgetting Where You Came From).

In closing as we become new creatures in Christ and continue in our faith walk there are those we have left behind who has helped us get thus far. The person who stopped the bully from messing with you. The person who you let sleep on your couch when you were down. The person who helped you raise your children. Just because you are saved and they are not please do not Act Brand New. That only drives them further from wanting to become part of the kingdom of God and it certainly is not pleasing to God. Never forget where you came from. I give God all the glory and honor for this teaching and ask him to bless each and everyone who may read this and those who cannot or may not. Sunday School is calling us all. Have a great week.
