What Would You Do?

Good afternoon and Thankful Thursday. I was talking with a friend of mine over lunch and she was telling me about a television show called What Would You Do, The show came out in 2008 and had solid ratings as it had 8 million viewers and ranked #81 when it first came out. The shows is a hidden camera show that depicts difficult situations and see how people would react. Some intervene while others look the other way or ignore what is going on. There are so many things that we as a people of God see that is not right and am I challenging myself as well as you, when you see these things, What Would You Do?
There are so many times that I am riding public transportation or walking downtown in Chicago that I see a number of men and women who need help. Some are not ashamed and will beg for whatever
a person can give them. Others walk around aimlessly without a purpose and even others are not in their right mind. As members of the Body of Christ is our job to help them. What Would You Do?
As I come into the Word of God for this teaching of What Would You Do I go to Luke 10:30-31. In this verse Jesus tells of the story of how a man was robbed and beaten and was left for dead. We see
that a priest saw him and went to the other side. When we as the Body of Christ see that our youth are being robbed of getting to know Christ and are taken a beating with how people perceive them are we just going to continue to let it happen. What Would You Do?
As we continue with this teaching of What You Do I go to Luke 10:33. In this verse another person who has a connection to God, a Levite sees the man and also crosses to the other side to avoid the
the same man who was robbed and beaten. There are some facilities that are supposed to be taking care of our elderly and we work there or see these things and do nothing but are members of the Body of Christ. What Would You Do?
As we come to the end of the Biblical portion of this teaching of What Would You Do I go to Luke 10:33-35. In these verses a Samaritan, of a people who were reviled by the people of God for lack of
being pure, comes along and helps the man by doing above and beyond. We as the people of God are not going above and beyond like the enemy is and therefore we are losing precious ground. What Would You Do?
In closing there are so many people who need we as the people of God to step up. If you cannot feed or provide money for the homeless then pray for them. There are so many programs that are looking for mentors for youths and if you cannot give time give what ever resources that you can. There are so many of our senior citizens that are being treated poorly by their living arrangements in these assisted living places that we need to become involved with our elected officials to stop this or take it upon ourselves to protest these conditions. Because if we do not the enemy will continue to have some victories. What Would You Do should become What We Have Done. I give God all the glory and honor for this teaching.
