Working Together For The Truth

The time is from A.D. 85 to A.D. 95 when John wrote letters to the church of Jesus.  In this early beginning of the church of Jesus Christ, worship took place primarily in the houses of believers. Apostles would travel from city to city preaching the Gospel. Travelers would rely on the hospitality of believers for food and rest.  In 3 John 1:1 John wrote to Gaius, an elder of the church. John begins by wishing that material prosperity, physical health, and spiritual prosperity be upon Gaius.  It is evident from the following verses that Gaius welcomed the traveling apostles and other worthy ministers when they visited his house of worship.  In 3 John 8 John states that those that receive apostles and others doing the work of Jesus might be fellow helpers to the truth.

Today the church builds houses of worship and the congregation supports the work of Jesus.  Every member that supports the local church is a fellow helper to the truth.  As fellow helpers of the truth, we support the arms of the chosen man of God that has a vision for the house of worship.  If we, like Gaius, faithfully perform as fellow helpers of the truth the wishes of John for material prosperity, physical health and spiritual prosperity may also be upon us.

Rhema Word 2.0 would like to thank Elder Warren Johnson for sharing such a great teaching. I ask that God continues to bless this teaching and the Rhema Word 2.0 ministry.
